A few days ago, I was in Trader Joe's pretty much scanning each and every aisle for pumpkin anything. (Pumpkin O's are back. I bought 8 boxes...only because 12 seemed like too much. I'll be back.)
This Pumpkin Caramel Danish Kringle caught my eye. I found it in the section near the baked goods. The kringle package is big, and fairly flat...a large waxed paper-like bag. A 24-ounce kringle costs $7.99.

A mom's (my) take: I had no idea what to expect from a kringle, so I was excited to open the package and slide out a huge, oval, frosted pastry. The pastry itself it flaky and buttery. The filling is generous and chock-full of pumpkin and spices. (Pumpkin is the 2nd ingredient listed on the label, so if you are a pumpkin lover...and not just a lover of "pumpkin spice," you're going to be happy.) The frosting is a beautiful caramel glaze studded with pecans. Here's another thing I learned about kringles...do NOT open a package when you are home alone. You'll be tempted to eat all 12 servings by yourself.

A teenager's (Jack's) take: For those of you excited that pumpkin-flavored things are back in season, this won't disappoint. The pumpkin hits you from the first bite and stays with you the whole way through. I love the croissant-y base, and the salted caramel comes through surprisingly well. The sugary glaze is a great finish. The only drawback, if this even is one, is the messy quality in eating it; use napkins! Unless you're a kid, then there's no point even trying... :)
