Candy Cane Star Pretzel Bites : easy Christmas dessert

These are a Plan B treat. I wanted to make something simple like the chocolate peanut butter acorns, but for Christmas and using the Candy Cane Kisses. I decided to make elves with a white chocolate truffle, mini Nilla Wafers, and Candy Cake Kiss. MAJOR FAIL.

At this point, I'd become so addicted to those Kisses that I had to use them in some other way. So, here's a little riff on the pretzel Rolo turtles. I've seen these with m&m's in the center before, but I think the stars look prettier. ♥

You'll need: Butter Pretzels (the square ones), Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses, and Chocolate Stars. Does anyone else get MAJOR nostalgia just thinking about those stars? I see them a lot at Christmastime in packages, but you might also be able to find them in the bulk candy section. (Amazon has them, too, but they're a little pricey.)

Line two rimmed cookie sheets with parchment. (This will make about 60 bites or however many Kisses and stars you have.) Place a sea of pretzels on the sheet, top each with a Candy Cane Kiss.

Bake at 200 for 4 minutes. The Kisses will not appear melted, but they should be soft. Immediately press a chocolate star onto each Kiss. (If not soft, return the pretzels and Kisses to the oven for 30 seconds.)

Chill the bites in the refrigerator for about one hour to set, then store at room temperature.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You might want to package them for giving BEFORE taste testing. Taste testing first could deplete your wares. (Don't ask me how I know this.)
