Sweet on Trader Joe's Sunday: Nutty Praline Trio

Trader Joe's Nutty Praline Trio review
We're still in the heyday of holiday goodies at Trader Joe's! The most wonderful time of the year...well, maybe right after pumpkin season.

Trader Joe's Nutty Praline Trio review
Today we're reviewing one of the pricier items at Trader Joe's, the Nutty Praline Trio. The pralines come in a nice tin, perfect for gifting, and there are three types inside: pecan, cashew, and almond. It sells for $7.99.

He (Mr. E) says: Whether you say “pray-lean” or “prah-lean”...if you eat the entire container, you might not stay-lean.  It's a good thing calories count HALF during the Christmas season.  Well, this treat from TJ’s was a first for me having pralines with nuts other than pecans.  Just the right amount of caramel...not too chewy...and they melt in your mouth.  And as a bonus, they didn’t stick to my freshly cleaned teeth (after a Friday dentist visit).  I’m more of a milk chocolate fan, but the dark chocolate was in perfect proportion.  Enjoy...

She says: I would describe these as turtles more so than pralines. Maybe that's a regional thing. I always think of pralines as a sandy-textured, thick candy with pecans. These have a chocolate-dipped base, a stretchy and soft caramel layer, chopped nuts on top, and a drizzle of more chocolate. The pralines are thin yet satisfying. My favorite of the three is the cashew one as there's a noticeable hint of salt I don't taste in the other two. Beware, this tin is one that calls you back again and again.
