Not to get off track, but you really should be following The Diva Dish on Instagram. Her Meme Wednesdays are pretty much the highlight of my week.

If you're like me and are new to Muddy Buddies, they are basically a sweet snack mix made with Chex cereal. (Sometimes you'll see this called "Puppy Chow," but I've gotta be honest, I'm not a fan of eating things name after dog food. This might be trauma after seeing my little sister eat a Gaines Burger when she was a toddler.)
It starts with Chex mix - chocolate and vanilla varieties. If you can't find both, just use one. It's fine. Still delish!
Melt butter with chocolate chips. (Does it get any better?)
Meanwhile, stir together vanilla with some espresso powder. (You can skip the espresso powder - it just deepens the chocolate flavor.)
Once the chocolate and butter are melted, quickly stir in the vanilla/espresso mixture and the Nutella. DO NOT be tempted to melt the Nutella with the chocolate and butter; it will seize.
This mixture will be quite thick. Pour it over the cereal and toss gently, taking care not to crush the cereal. It takes a little work to get it distributed, but it's worth the effort. I like using "salad hands" for this task.
Next, you'll stir in Imperial Sugar powdered sugar, along with some flaky sea salt. Before serving or packaging, toss with heart sprinkles.
This is just the treat to bring to a Valentine party or to package in individual bags for giving. ♥
