This week, we review Trader Joe's Cocoa Chile Spiced Pecans. Trader Joe's describes them as "candied pecans with a blend of cocoa and spices."
I was really eager to try these as I love spiced pecans...I usually make one or both of these pecan recipes every year at Christmas. PS. My "pecan story" is in that post, and it is a good one. ;)
The Cocoa and Chile Spiced Pecans come in a resealable 5-ounce bag and cost $4.49. They are a holiday (limited) item.

She said: Of all of the goodies that have been tested in our Trader Joe's reviews, these pecans might land in my top 5. I ADORE THEM. Y'all...I'm passing up cookies to eat these instead. The pecans (mostly full halves with a few pieces) are crisp and snappy. There's something about the cocoa flavor and mouthfeel (such a weird word - sorry!) that I really love. I'm so happy they went the cocoa route rather than coating them in chocolate. The cayenne pairs beautifully with the cocoa and cinnamon. The spice really kicks - be sure to have a beverage nearby. I hadn't tried it yet, but I think these might be great with an ice cold beer!

He (Jack) said: I have to admit that sweet and savory is not my favorite combination, but I guess these could be an exception...the spice is what really makes them enjoyable! It balances out the slight sweetness and is what makes up most of the aftertaste as well. These are great if you want to give your taste buds a challenge!
