It wasn't long ago that I was a member of the Watermelon-Hater's Club. Something happened a couple of years ago - now I'm a fan! (See this Watermelon Margarita Mocktail recipe.)
At Trader Joe's, this Organic Watermelon Fruit Spread caught my eye. Mr. E has always been a fan of watermelon, like, he cannot get enough all summer long. I knew we had to try this spread for our review.

A 10-ounce jar of Watermelon Fruit Spead costs $2.69. The ingredients are fairly simple: watermelon puree, sugar, cherry juice concentrate, fruit pectin, and citric acid.
We tested this straight from a spoon and also on a toasted crumpet with butter.
Let's review Trader Joe's Organic Watermelon Fruit Spread!
She says: If you've ever eaten a Watermelon Jolly Rancher and thought, "Wow, I'd love to spread this on toast," then this might be for you. It tastes EXACTLY like a Jolly Rancher. Super sweet, tangy...and I hate to say it...artificial. I appreciate the natural ingredients that are actually in it, but the end result tastes unnatural.
Overall rating: 1 of 5 stars (but cute label!)
He (Mr. E) says: It’s rare that I find much in the way of watermelon-flavored anything that I like besides the actual fruit, sliced and chilled. I do enjoy fruit spreads, and this was no exception - a good combination of sweet with a hint of tanginess. I tried this off the spoon and on a crumpet. TJ’s did well with this one.
