Ah...it's finally here. Fall Sweet Fall. I love every part of the season, but that first week of crisp cool air is probably my favorite.
This week, I thought I'd feature autumn-themed cookie sets that don't have anything to do with Halloween. Don't get me wrong, I LOOOOOOVE a Halloween cookie, but I'm not quite ready yet. Click the post title to go to the cookie decorating tutorials.
7 Fall-Themed Decorated Cookies that Aren't Halloween
The first sign of fall isn't the leaves changing. Let's be honest - it's the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Well, these cookies? They're even better than those lattes. They really are easy to make, too! Let me call your attention to the fact that these cut-out cookies are CHOCOLATE!!!
Mixing icing colors is rarely anyone's favorite chore...unless it's made easy by using different shades of the same color! Voila! Ombre pumpkin cookies are a great twist on the classic pumpkin cookie.
Simple Decorated Pumpkin Cookies
Speaking of those classic, decorated pumpkin cookies...what is it about the simple pumpkin cookie that makes them irresistible? I'm not sure, but I'll reach for one every time. If you're new to cookie decorating, this is a great fall cookie tutorial with which to start!
Muted, soft autumn shades make for a pretty floral set. Add in a little gold stencil work, and these cookies go from cute to elegant! I have to say that I've learned a little more about colors and whether they're "cool" or "warm" since making this set and would probably make that light blue a bit more teal to fit with the autumn theme.
I love this combo of acorns and pumpkins. The wet-on-wet decorating technique makes creating them easy as (pumpkin) pie!
Believe it or not, all of the cookies in this set were made using the same cookie cutter. See it now? We get more Monarch butterflies in our garden in the fall than in the spring. Maybe they like pumpkins, too.
Pumpkin Cookies with Succulents and Roses
The soft shades of the succulents work so well against the orange pumpkin cookies. Super fun to make, and each cookie is unique based on which succulents are piped and their placement on the cookie. These were made at thank-you cookies, but I think they'd be so pretty for a fall bridal shower!
