Before we get into the details, here's one tip to start:

Decorating a set of cookies in the same color palette will make your life much easier.

There's less icing to tint, less possibility of running low on one color or another, AND they all look like a cohesive group!

Let's Make These Easy Pink Halloween Cookies.

You'll need the following:

Divide and tint royal icing making black, white, and two shades of pink icing. (Be sure to press a sheet of plastic wrap directly onto the icing to keep it from crusting.)

Use a #2 tip to outline the cookies with the lighter pink icing.

Thin the same icing with water a bit at a time, stirring gently until the icing is thinned to a 3-second consistency. When a ribbon of icing is dropped back into the bowl, it will disappear in a 3-second count. If too thin, add in more sifted powdered sugar.

Cover with a damp dishtowel and let sit for several minutes.

Pour icing into squeeze bottles. Fill the circle and half of the square cookies if making all three designs. Use a toothpick to guide icing to the edges and pop any large air bubbles. Place those to the side to set up a bit.

Meanwhile, reserve some thick black icing for later and thin the remaining in the manner above.

Make the spiderweb cookies:
Working 6 cookies at a time, fill in the remaining square cookies with the thinned pink icing.

Starting with the first cookie filled, pipe three curved lines of thinned black icing across one corner. Drag a toothpick through the lines to make a spiderweb pattern.

Let the cookies dry for at least one hour before continuing.

Make the kitty and spider cookies:
Once the base icing has set up for at least one hour, pipe the outline of a cat face on top of the pink icing. Fill in with thinned black icing. Let sit for at least one hour.

Use a #2 tip to add white eyeballs on the cat. Use a #1.5 tip to add black dots to the eyes. Use a 1.5 tip to add bright pink details on the cat. For the spider: Use the 1.5 tip to add dots for the web and spider legs. Use a #3 tip to pipe the spider body. Use a #1 or 1.5 to add eyes on the spider.

[NOTE: I saw a version of this darling kitty and spider design on Pinterest. It did not link back to the cookie decorator. If it's you, or you know who made it, please let me know so I can give credit!]

Make the ghost cookies:
Because you'll be putting some pressure on the base icing, let the icing dry for at least two hours before adding the details.

Dip the back of a small offset spatula into thick white icing. Lightly press onto the cookie and swipe down to make ghosts. Use a 1.5 tip to pipe eyes on the ghosts, hearts or dots, your choice! Pipe "boo" on the edge.
