The Salad Whisperer Cookbook! A New Favorite!

Yes! Between cookies, cakes, and brownies, we often eat salad. I actually love a good salad—usually when it's made by someone else

Let me introduce you to Salad Whisperer: Veggie-Forward Recipes for Mouth-Watering Meals. I promise you'll want this on your cookbook shelf!

Embarrassingly, for years, my go-to salad to serve with dinner was baby spinach tossed with olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper.

Well, Sarah Faris has changed all that with her new cookbook Salad Whisperer: Veggie-Forward Recipes for Mouth-Watering Meals. Just look at her Not My Mother's Tabbouleh above!

I've been a fan of Sarah's for a long time. Via her Instagram feed, she convinced me to give cauliflower another shot. She posts incredible recipes there and on her blog, The Salad Whisperer, like this Spicy Peanut Broccoli and Chicken Salad.

Sarah's bold flavors and combinations of raw and cooked ingredients, toppings, and dressings make her salads the star of the show...not relegated to the "I have to eat this to be healthy" part of dinner.

I've made several recipes from the book, and they're all recipes I'll make again and again.

An Updated Three-Bean Salad, Caesared Kale and Cavatelli Salad, Crunchy Broccoli and Farro Salad. (There's an entire chapter on Caesar salads!)

First, I'm crazy about the Eggless Caesar Salad Dressing (it's also anchovy-less). Not only did I use it to make a couple of salads from the book, I found myself making a plate of veggies to dip in the dressing as a snack. As someone whose go-to snack is chocolate chips straight from the bag, this is a BIG DEAL!

The book includes many types of salads, such as Reinvented Classics, Caesars, Mediterranean Salads, Noodle Salads, and salads with beans and grains.

Sarah gives excellent tips for making dressings. Not just the ingredient list, but the best tools and techniques for making them beautifully. Some of the dressings in the book include A Proper Vinaigrette, Smoky Blue Cheese (making this next!), Garlicky Maple Mustard, Eggless Caesar, Herb and Anchovy, and more!

All that to say...I'm a fan! This cookbook will get, and is already getting, a workout in my kitchen!

To my boys, I'm sorry about all of those baby spinach/lemon juice/olive oil salads over the years! I just needed Sarah in my life!

Y'all, buy Salad Whisperer! You'll love it!
